Writer Wannabee is a Sagittarian - that one word should tell you volumes!
Writer Wannabee lives on the Oregon coast. She has been staff writer for the Port Orford News, written articles for Port Orford Today, and was editor of the Cape Blanco Journal. She has also served as publicist and newsletter editor for several local non-profit organizations. In August 2006 she received a Late Bloomers Grant from the Brookings/Harbor Festival of the Arts to help her pursue her writing. She has Bachelor of English and Master of Librarianship degrees and has taken several on-line writing courses from Gotham Writers Workshop. Two of her poems were published in the January 2009 issue of the on line poetry magazine 4 and 20.
Writer Wannabee is a person of many interests. There are many people who know a lot about just one thing and other people who know a little about a lot of things. I fall somewhere in the middle. I find life more interesting when my eggs are not all in one basket, and I love the feeling of connection when that happens. Some of my interests are: reading, architecture (especially Frank Lloyd Wright), lighthouses, photography, postcard collecting, jimmy buffett’s music, baseball (watching), trains and railroads, lewis & clark, history of the pacific northwest & the western united states, nautical/maritime subjects, traveling in the pacific northwest & western united states. Writers I especially like: Floyd Skloot, Richard Bode, Terry Pindell, Stephen Ambrose, Michael Pollan, Joan Druett, Witold Rybczynski, Joe Bailey, Robert Michael Pyle.
